What qualifications should I look for in a personal trainer?

I am looking into getting a personal trainer at my gym, but I know that a lot of them have very little training aside form a few courses. I don’t want to insult anyone, but I don’t feel that a six month course and a multiple choice test is really good enough. Do you know what questions I should ask to ensure that I get a well qualified trainer? What types of certificates are available to trainers and what do they have to do get them? Thanks!

It’s an important question to ask considering that your health and well-being, not to mention your money are all involved.

It is true that there are many under-qualified personal trainers attempting to position themselves as experts.

To find a qualified and experienced Personal Trainer, you should look for the following:

1. Make sure that their certifications are current. All of the major certifying organizations provide their personal trainers with documentation of their certified status. The personal trainer should not be offended by your asking for proof. The most reputable organizations include the NSCA, NASM, ACSM, and ACE.

2. A degree in health sciences, exercise physiology, or another related field is not a requirement, but it surely adds to the value of the service provided. Again, the personal trainer should be able to provide proof of degree if asked.

3. Ask for testimonials or references. It is always best to see/hear the thoughts of someone who has worked with your potential personal trainer before.

How do you stop a Garmin Nuvi 765 from interfering with the signal for a garage door remote?

When I have the GPS device in my car, it will not allow me to close the garage door using my remote in the car. When the device is not in the car, the remote will work just fine. The problem seems to be with the closing of the door. The remote will work fine to open the door, for some reason it will just not close it.

I am successfully keeping a green terror, convict, severum & salvini cichlids along with zebras & labs for long time.

I have them in normal water with some conitioners, with no salt addad.
I had tiretrack eels with them, as cichlids are rock experts they constantly chased them, harassed and killed them later.
But remember to change your aquascape before you add any fish so that they form a new territory, along with new fishes. Or else the previous fish fishes bully the new lot.

Got a yellow flashing 2 inch bar on my LCD Color Monitor that won’t go away?

Created an on-line banking account and the yellow flashing bar congratulating me for succeeding won’t go away permanently. If I turn my monitor off overnight it goes away but if I’m on the computer for approx 30 min. it starts flashing again faintly in the background. My monitor don’t have demagnetize or degauss just reset and auto. The bar is there on and off of the internet. This happened approx 5/28/08.
